Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center $5,000 Donation to Caroline County Fire-Rescue
Bowling Green, VA, December 11, 2009 -- Caroline County Fire-Rescue has received a $5,000 donation from the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center (SRMC). This hospital will open in June, 2010 in the Massaponax area. Some 50 members of Fire and EMS squads from the region joined members of SRMCs leader-ship team for dinner. The evening was highlighted by the presentation of $5,000 checks to the fire and rescue departments in each of the four municipalities.
This donation is especially appreciated during these difficult budget times, Chief Layman said. We will use this money to support emergency medical services in Caroline and to fund new advanced life support equipment. Caroline plans to purchase upgraded equipment to support interosses fluid resuscitation. Interosses equipment allows the placement of a needle directly into a bone cavity. This is used for emergency resuscitation when traditional IV sites are not available.
The men and women who represent our local fire and EMS squads deserve not only our gratitude, but also our full support, said Tim Tobin, CEO of Spotsylvania Regional.
